Schrijven voor Foobie

In deze wereld van user generated content ben ik ook maar eens begonnen met het schrijven van informatieve artikelen voor de website Foobie. Je artikelen bevatten advertenties van Google Adsense en deze advertenties zijn aan jouw account gekoppeld. Als je dus heel veel artikelen toevoegt en steeds meer mensen klikken op jouw links, kun je een extra zakcentje per maand verdienen. En je mag lekker schrijven waarover je wilt, als het maar informatief en je eigen tekst is. Ik ga dus proberen om iedere dag een artikel toe te voegen en dan zie ik over een jaar wel wat het maandelijks oplevert… Call me crazy…

Naomi Wolf writes a cynical article in the Huffington Post about the dubious arrest of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange for ‘sex by surprise’…

It’s good to see that also feminists are noticing that there’s something wrong about this arrest. Seems they’re only putting Assange on wait until the USA have concocted some story to warrant his extradition. He should be freed. The rape claim is bogus.

I think I’m going to buy me a wake-up light very soon. The Philips HF3485 caught my attention. Then at least I will wake up in a more friendly way than my my stupid alarm clock. I think I’m going to opt for the sound of Alp cows…

Looking forward to the new Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1. I won’t go to see it in the cinema though. Just waiting for the DVD to be released.

Cat in a box

Stoffer has taken a close look at the YoutTube videos of the world famous cat Maru, the Japanese cat with a box fetish. Okay, Stoffer won’t jump through small boxes (yet), but this lazy kitty at least has no problems jumping out of quite a big box, with grace.

Stoffer has always had a thing for boxes. For months he’s been sleeping in a (by now) worn down carton box in the hallway upstairs. And last week al he did was sleep in his travel case. All day. And all night.

Anyway, have a look at Maru and compare for yourself!

Voluntary childless people

I was just reading ‘happiness professor’ Ruut Veenhoven’s article from 1977 about research that having children doesn’t make people happy, and that not having children doesn’t make people unhappy. Then when you look further on the internet and read reactions to people who are happy to be childless, they get such incredibly negative reactions, especially from mothers who claim to be very happy with life. It looks like those mums feel attacked because other people made other choices than they did. Is it a sort of jealousy? Are they maybe reluctant to admit that indeed their choice to have children didn’t make them happier than they were? I would really like to know why there’s such ferociousness behind those words that those mother are so very vert happy…
